The Christmas Miracle Offering

Thanks to all! We raise, an amazing, $17,500 this past holiday season!

The Christmas Miracle Offering began in 2007 as a way to remind us that Christmas is all about Jesus' ' Birthday – not our birthday's. Every Christmas the people of Plain City UMC are invited to spend less on buying lots of stuff SO THAT we can give a sacrificial offering to share the love of God with those in need. A portion of the offering supports our Mission Partners in Piedras Negras, Mexico – including the Casa de Misericordia ("House of Mercy") Orphanage – and a portion supports local outreach and service projects. The offering keeps growing each year: $8,500 in 2007, $12,000 in 2008, and $16,225 in 2009. How will you celebrate the birth of our Savior this Christmas? Join us in leaving lasting legacy through our sacrificial giving.

Our 2010 Christmas Miracle Offering will once again show God’s love to our mission partners in Piedras Negras, Mexico. Two thirds of our offering will support the Casa de Misericordia ("House of Mercy") orphanage and the new church plant, Jehova Salma, led by Pastor Miguel de Leon. One third of the offering will share the love of Jesus locally by helping to fund the launch of a new Free Community Meal Program. This new program will launch in the summer of 2011 to provide food, biblical teaching and relational support to families in need in the Jonathon Alder School District. You can designate your offering for the Christmas Miracle Offering throughout the month of December. Our special focus to receive the offering will be on Sunday December 19th and Friday December 24th. May we all experience the joy of celebrating Christ’s birth by giving sacrificially to love and care for "the least of these."

Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:4
