Help From Home

Not all outreach must be done out. Some can be done just as effectively from home. Below are various outreach projects that can be done from home.

Knit for Kids

Knit or crochet sweaters for kids throughout the world through the Guideposts Knit for Kids program. Patterns, instructions, and more can be found at http://www.knitforkids.org/. Completed sweaters can be dropped off at the church office and will be shipped quarterly.

Turbans/Pillows for Cancer Patients

Sew turbans for cancer patients in the Madison and Union county area. Completed turbans can be dropped off at the church office and will be distributed to local Chapters of the American Cancer Association. Patterns and instructions can be downloaded here.

Box tops & Campbell Soup labels for Education

Many of the schools in the Jonathan Alder School District collect General Mills box tops and Campbell Soup labels which are then redeemed for cash which is used to purchase playground equipment and more. As you use products, check to see if there is a box top for education. If there is, tear it off and set it aside. After you have collected a few, bring them in to the church and give it to one of the school children. They will see that it gets to the schools. For more information on products containing the box tops http://www.boxtops4education.com/. For more information on the products for Campbell soup http://www.labelsforeducation.com/.

Project Linus

It is the mission of the Project Linus to "provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers."
