Small Groups

What is a Small Group?

A Small Group is a community of about 8-12 people sharing life together as they become more like Jesus Christ and participate in God's mission in the world. Small groups following the example of the early church described in Acts 2:42-47 will be:

  • Biblical - connecting biblical truth with our everyday lives
  • Christ-Centered - inviting people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Relational - experiencing authentic, caring friendships
  • Missional - serving together to advance God's mission
  • Spirit-Led - relying on the Holy Spirit to fill and empower each person and the group

Why Small Groups?

Because Small Groups...

  • allow us to wrestle together with the meaning and implications of God's Word for our lives, unlike a large group or preaching experience
  • provide a place for every person to be known and cared for by others in the body of Christ
  • encourage intentional spiritual growth as disciples of Jesus Christ
  • unleash people to serve in our church, community, and beyond
  • enable us to maintain the family-like connections while growing in numbers
  • overcome the limitations of facility space since there are limitless numbers of homes and restaurants in the area to host groups
