Children's Ministry

Children's Ministries at Plain City UMC are for infants through fourth graders AND their Parents. We are partnering together to help children take their first steps to become growing disciples of Jesus Christ. Through our Safe Sanctuary (create link to Safe Sanctuary Page) program, we create a safe environment where children can experience God's love, learn from God's Word in age-appropriate ways, make new friends and have a ton of fun while they are doing it.

Safe Sanctuary

The Safe Sanctuary Policy of Plain City UMC was established to create a safe environment in which children and youth can come to worship, grow and feel the love of God. The Safe Sanctuary policy and procedures reduce the risk of inappropriate or abusive behavior happening with children, youth and/or adult volunteers. All adult volunteers or youth helpers must be Safe Sanctuary certified to work with children or youth in PCUMC sponsored activities. The basic requirements for certification include:

  1. Complete Safe Sanctuary application
  2. Submit Reference forms
  3. Consent to a Criminal background check
  4. Attend an annual Safe Sanctuary Training
  5. Be regularly involved in the life of PCUMC for at least 6 months
